Carpathian Mountains - here we come! We will begin with a most beautiful route, from Bucharest to Sinaia, combining the wild and picturesque landscapes with an impressive display of architectural splendors found in these magical parts of the country. Your itinerary will take you to see the neo-gothic Peles Castle in Sinaia, followed by the Rasnov Citadel, a fortress built by Teutonic knights in the early 13’th century, ending with a visit to one of the greatest Gothic churches in Transylvania, the Black Church in Brasov city.
Prepare for an extraordinary day! A most scenic and spectacular itinerary awaits you! Not only will you ride through pine wood covered mountains, visiting the famous Baile Tusnad Spa Town, located in the southern reaches of the Ciuc depression, between the Harghita and Bodoc Mountains, but you will also get to see the largest barrier lake of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains, the so called Red Lake. Its name comes from the reddish alluvium of iron oxides and iron hydroxides deposited in the lake by the Red Creek. The lake seems dark and threatening, the stumps that come out of the water makes you think that a lacustrian civilisation met their fate just a few years before you passed by. And to truly top all this, imagine riding through narrow roads and passes that slice in two 1000 feet tall limestone rocks....imagine and then see it come to life, because this is next on the route...the most extraordinary pass through the Bicaz Gorges! The road will eventually take you to another famous attraction on the itinerary, the Bicaz Lake, the largest artificial lake on the interior waters of Romania, which also has the biggest dam. The last leg of your trip for the day, will be in Piatra-Neamt.
Moldova’s Monasteries are the most beautiful and most visited touristic destinations from our country. Each and one of them are unique in their own way and extremely important not only for our religious culture, but for our tourism, as well, from many points of view and for many aspects.
The Neamt Monastery is a Romanian Orthodox religious settlement, one of the oldest and most important of its kind in Romania. It was built in the 15th century, and it is an example of medieval Moldavian architecture. A jewel of 15th-century architecture, the church was built during Ştefan cel Mare’s reign and finished in the year when the Moldavian army won the battle against King John Albert (1497)
The Apuseni Mountains is a mountain range in Transylvania, which belongs to the Western Romanian Carpathians, also called Occidentali in Romanian. Their name translates from Romanian as Mountains "of the sunset" . The Apuseni Mountains have about 400 caves. Scarisoara Ice Cave ,one of them, is the second biggest underground glacier in south-eastern Europe. This makes it one of the most important caves in Romania. The ice stays there during summers due to the high altitude.
