Following your hotel check-in, we will take you to visit the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, (Pentagon being the first), after which you can take a stroll through the old center of Bucharest, where you can experience first-hand the essence and spirit of the city and its people.
We will begin with a most beautiful route, from Bucharest to Sinaia, combining the wild and picturesque landscapes with an impressive display of architectural splendors found in these magical parts of the country. Your itinerary will take you to see the neo-renessaince Peles Castle in Sinaia, followed by the 14’th century fortification known far and wide as Dracula’s Castle, and last but not least the Black Church in Brasov city, deemed as being the greatest gothic church in Transylvania, housing one of the biggest organs in Europe, as well as the largest collection of old carpets from Asia Minor.
On today’s itinerary there we recommend the Risnov Citadel, a historic monument and landmark in Romania. Located on a rocky hilltop of the Carpathian Mountains, 650 feet above the town of Rasnov, this fortress was built by teutonic knights in 1211, as protection against the invading tatars. Your ride will end in Sibiu city. Formerly the center of the Transylvanian Saxons, Sibiu was ranked the 8’th most idyllic places to live in Europe. Take a nice stroll through the town, visit the cultural center of it and bask in the unique flavour of this place!
Today we will get your head in the clouds, literally! Your journey will take you through the Translapina Pass, at 2100 meters altitude, the highest hanging road in Romania. Nothing but serpentines, heart stopping scenery and riding right above the clouds. To top this extraordinary expedition, we will break our journey on the hills of Dragasani, where we will visit one of the finest wineries of the region, the Avincis Winery. While lodging here, you will not only enjoy the beautiful accommodations, but also savor the wines, discover the winery’s history, and last but not least, enjoy an amazing meal which will leave your palate fully satisfied and thirsty for the beautiful wines here.
Your ride today will be taking you to a very famous town, one of the oldest ones in Wallachia, namely Curtea de Arges, which was the capital of a small local state. The oldest archeological evidence dates back to the 13’th century. The city is the site of a couple of medieval churches, among them the Curtea de Arges Cathedral which is on our itinerary. Upon completing our visit here, we’ll ride once more through the Transfagarasan, all the way back to Brasov city.
Prepare for an extraordinary day! A most scenic and spectacular itinerary awaits you! Not only will you ride through pine wood covered mountains, visiting the famous Baile Tusnad Spa Town, located in the southern reaches of the Ciuc depression, between the Harghita and Bodoc Mountains, but you will also get to see the largest barrier lake of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains, the so called Red Lake. Its name comes from the reddish alluvium of iron oxides and iron hydroxides deposited in the lake by the Red Creek. The lake seems dark and threatening, the stumps that come out of the water makes you think that a lacustrian civilisation met their fate just a few years before you passed by. And to truly top all this, imagine riding through narrow roads and passes that slice in two 1000 feet tall limestone rocks....imagine and then see it come to life, because this is next on the route...the most extraordinary pass through the Bicaz Gorges! The road will eventually take you to another famous attraction on the itinerary, the Bicaz Lake, the largest artificial lake on the interior waters of Romania, which also has the biggest dam. The last leg of your trip for the day, will be in Piatra-Neamt.
Today’s ride is taking us yet again to the beautiful Brasov city, and this time the route will be following another scenic road for your pleasure. Beautiful mountains in the backdrop and little villages littered all along the way.
On our way back to the capital city, we will take you to the famous Cheia Pass, an amazing motorcycle ride through the Carpathian Mountains, with serpentines and scenic views of the above mentioned pass. These mountains also contain one of the biggest salt mine in Europe, the Slanic Prahova salt mine, and thus we included it for you on the itinerary. Situated between the valley of Prahova and that of Teleajen, at about 44 km from Ploiesti, Slanic Prahova stands today for one of the most important watering and climatic resorts in Romania. You will get the chance to walk through the salt mine and to experience, even if for a short while, the amazing benefits of the saline air micro-climate.
This day is concluding your trip. Hoping that you enjoyed your stay with us, we will bid you good-bye, but perhaps only for a short period of time until you will return again...or perhaps tell a friend about us...:)
