Following your hotel check-in, we will take you to visit the Parliament Palace, the world’s second largest building, (Pentagon being the first), after which you can take a stroll through the old center of Bucharest, where you can experience first-hand the essence and spirit of the city and its people.
We will begin with a most beautiful route, from Bucharest to Sinaia, combining the wild and picturesque landscapes with an impressive display of architectural splendors found in these magical parts of the country. Your itinerary will take you to see the neo-gothic Peles Castle in Sinaia, followed by the Rasnov Citadel, a fortress built by Teutonic knights in the early 13’th century, ending with a visit to one of the greatest Gothic churches in Transylvania, the Black Church in Brasov city.
A truly exciting day awaits you! Not only will you get the chance to ride through the breathtaking Transfagarasan Pass, one of the expeditions most coveted by riders from all over the world, but you will also get to visit a place of history, legends, myths and folktales...the Bran Castle, famously dubbed as Dracula’s castle. The dramatic 14’th century citadel, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. Your next point of interest on the itinerary is one of the oldest Wallachian towns, Curtea de Arges, with its medieval cathedral, churches and monasteries. Another attraction on your route is the Vidraru Storage Lake situated along the Transfagarasan, where the Arges river enters the gorges. Surrounded by thick forests and by the majestic crests of the Fagaras Mountains, this calm mirror invites you to relax in this fascinating place, highly appreciated by those who love natural scenery. To wrap up your day, we will ride to one of the beautiful and historical cities of Romania, Sibiu.
Formerly the center of the Transylvanian Saxons, Sibiu was ranked the 8’th most idyllic places to live in Europe. Take a nice stroll through the town, visit the cultural center of it and bask in the unique flavour of this place! Should you prefer to forego the relaxation, we can also provide you with a professional guided enduro ride, where you can discover a magnificent part of wild Transylvania, a mythical territory haunted by the spirit of count Dracula! For the enduro ride clients: The enduro trips will take place outside of Sibiu, a place renowned for the world’s toughest and hardest enduro rally. All these tours are driven by professional tour-guides and meet all the demands and expectations of all enduro riders, be that a beginner or a well trained one. To top the challenging enduro ride, we will take you for the night to a place where you can unwind under the stars...barbecue or cook a goulash while listening to some good music, or simply sit around the fire pit, drinking beer and discussing interesting topics such as, women and enduro bikes. ;-) The barbecue is optional for those who don’t want to participate in the enduro guided ride.
Today we will ride towards Baia de Fier, a small commune in Gorj county, that houses a most elaborate cave system called as ’Pestera Muierii’ wich stands for ’Woman’s Cave’. Among the thousands of caves in the Carpathian Mountains, only a few have such a rich past. Situated in a wild place, having more than just one entrance, the Woman’s Cave was a natural fortress, a resistance point for the inhabitants of the neighboring settlements over their struggling history. One of the entrances offers an excellent observation point over the field from the south, and another entrance opens the view to the dense forests of the Parang Mountains. The highlight of this entire ride will be the magnificent Transalpina Pass that will lead us to our above mentioned destination. Nothing but serpentines, amazingly wild scenery, and riding above the clouds, literally, since this pass is at 2100 meters altitude.
A truly exciting day awaits you. We will merge riding and art for you. Sounds like a paradox? Hardly...We will take you all the way to Tirgu-Jiu, a city that lies at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, on the banks of the river Jiu, where the sculptures of one of the most famous and worldwide known artist are on permanent exhibit. If you never heard of Constantin Brancusi, today is the day to meet face to face with a few pieces of his art work, as the city of Tirgu-Jiu hosts and preserves some of his legacy. After visiting the famous sculptures, the itinerary will follow the narrow path of Defileul Jiului, all the way to Vidra Lake, a spectacular storage reservoir on the Lotru River.
We reserved one of the most scenic rides for you on this day. The Olt Valley is one of the most spectacular and beautiful areas in Romania, where nature has managed to stay unspoiled by civilisation, where a whirling river is flowing through dramatic gorges and its banks boasts of centuries old monasteries and churches. The panoramic view is indeed fascinating through every season and you will have an exclusive chance to enjoy all this on your way back to Bucharest.
This day is concluding your trip. Hoping that you enjoyed your stay with us, we will bid you good-bye, but perhaps only for a short period of time until you will return again...or perhaps tell a friend about us...:)
