Your first trip outside the capital will take you to the famous Cheia Pass, an amazing motorcycle ride through the Carpathian Mountains, with serpentines and scenic views of the above mentioned pass. These mountains also contain one of the biggest salt mine in Europe, the Slanic Prahova salt mine, and thus we included it for you on the itinerary. Situated between the valley of Prahova and that of Teleajen, at about 44 km from Ploiesti, Slanic Prahova stands today for one of the most important watering and climatic resorts in Romania. Day 5 - Baia de Fier- Transalpina - Rânca - Jina-Sibiu

Tour length: 180 kmDifficulty grading: moderate to high

Today we will ride towards Baia de Fier, a small commune in Gorj county, that houses a most elaborate cave system called as ‘Pestera Muierii’ wich stands for ‘Woman’s Cave’. Among the thousands of caves in the Carpathian Mountains, only a few have such a rich past. Situated in a wild place, having more than just one entrance, the Woman’s Cave was a natural fortress, a resistance point for the inhabitants of the neighboring settlements over their struggling history. One of the entrances offers an excellent observation point over the field from the south, and another entrance opens the view to the dense forests of the Parang Mountains. The highlight of this entire ride will be the magnificent Transalpina Pass that will lead us to our above mentioned destination. Nothing but serpentines, amazingly wild scenery, and riding above the clouds, literally, since this pass is at 2100 meters altitude.

Day 6 - Sibiu - Castelul de Lut(Valea Zanelor, Porumbacul de sus) - Bran(castelul Bran) - Rasnov - Sinaia)

Tour length: 210 kmDifficulty grading: moderate

Today we have beautiful Sibiu on our route! Formerly the center of the Transylvanian Saxons, Sibiu was ranked the 8’th most idyllic places to live in Europe. Take a nice stroll through the town, visit the cultural center of it and bask in the unique flavour of this place! Do you still believe in magical creatures like fairies, gnomes or maybe unicorns? If you don’t, you might want to reconsider, because there is a place where they do come to life... Nestled in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in the heart of Transylvania, a tiny Romanian town is now home to a fairytale come true in the form of an adorable 10-room hotel built from clay and sand. The hotel’s Romanian name is Castelul de Lut Valea Zanelor, which translates to “Clay Castle of the Valley of the Fairies” in English, an absolutely fitting moniker for these ancient architectural accommodations. Also on our itinerary today we will have a place of history, legends, myths and folktales…the Bran Castle, famously dubbed as Dracula’s castle. The dramatic 14’th century citadel, is a national monument and landmark in Romania. Lastly but not leastly, the Rasnov Citadel, a fortress built by Teutonic knights in the early 13’th century, is what will end this breathtaking tour for the day, followe by the ride to our lodging place, Sinaia. Day 7 - Sinaia (Peles Castle) - Mamaia

Tour length: 360 kmDifficulty grading: moderate

This day is partly reserved for the ride leading to Sinaia’s famous Peles Castle. This is a special opportunity for anyone to delight their visual senses in the beauty and uniqueness of this Neo-Renessaince castle. Located in the Peles Brook Valley, on the spot named Pietrele Arse (The Burnt Stones), it is most famous for being the preferred holiday residence of the royal family. King Carol the First purchased the land in 1872, after spending some time in the neighborhood. He liked so much the wild and picturesque landscape that he decided to build a castle, and for this purpose he hired a german architect, Wilhelm Dodderes, hence the german neo-renessaince style of the exterior architecture. Upon completing this relaxing visit, we will ride all the way to the Black Sea, where will brake our journey in the resort town of Mamaia.

Day 8 - Mamaia - Tulcea - The Danube Delta

Tour length: 130 kmDifficulty grading: moderate

As a special point of delight and pleasure, we reserved a UNESCO World Heritage site to be visited this and next day, the Danube Delta, the largest and best preserved of Europe’s deltas. A protected site in Dobrogea-Romania, it hosts over 300 species, as well as 45 species of freshwater fish species in its numerous lakes and marshes. Here also lies some of Europe’s very few remaining grazed mosaic forest landscapes kept in their natural state by the wild horses and wild cattle still present. With a very rich history from ancient times to present day, the delta and its surroundings also offer a multitude of historical remains from Roman, Greek, Byzantine and Ottoman periods. As you can see, there are plenty of reasons to explore this oasis of nature in its purest form of being. Take full advantage of the silence, listen to the wind and waves of the green river, immortalize with pictures this vast land with nobody between you and Mother Nature, navigate deep into the canals to feel the sunsets and hear the weeping willows. There will be memories made here that will make you want to come back for more.
